My kids have had a great experience with their music lessons. The teachers are enthusiastic and very friendly, always. There are a wide variety of teachers with different musical styles and abilities. I recommend Tampa Fine Art’s Academy for your kids or yourself.

We have a variety of instructors who teach violin, viola and cello. They are also versed in various styles of music. Although it is typically easier, especially for children to learn to play by ear, we also show our students how to sight read sheet music. It doesn't matter if you prefer fiddle or classical violin, we will find the perfect teacher best suited to help you accomplish your goals. We typically recommend students to be at least five years old. However, we have had success teaching students younger than 5. You are more than welcome to schedule a free assessment if you have a child who is under 5 wanting to learn how to play the violin. Our instructors love showing their students how to perfect their technique and also enjoy providing violin lessons on how to play their favorite songs. Our violin teachers enjoy teaching children and teens and adults and have friendly personalities.

Your child will change instruments as they grow. Our teachers will help you choose the right size violin for you!

OTHER COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT VIOLIN, VIOLA, and CELLO LESSONS

WHAT MAKES YOUR ORCHESTRAL PRIVATE LESSON PROGRAM UNIQUE?

Regardless of whether you are taking violin lessons, viola lessons or cello lessons, each student will have a program customized to search his/her specific needs. We understand that individuals can have extremely personal reasons for wanting to take lessons. Our teachers are very versatile and can tailor their approach to the unique way that each person learns and relates to music.

We are also the only school in the area that offers a patented system geared towards motivating students to make progress every week. This lesson program not only makes it fun for the students to learn an instrument. As parents of children we understand how critical it is to see continuous progress in a child taking music lessons. Our system provides that accountability for both the parents and the children involved in our lesson program.

DO YOU TEACH THE SUZUKI METHOD?

At Tampa Fine Arts Academy, our instructors use both the Suzuki as well as the Classical style of teaching. Each method has it's purpose and use when learning to play the violin. Because in the end, it's really about what the student wants to accomplish, we develop a customized lesson program to help you receive the maximum benefits so that you can learn how the play music in a way best suited for you.

WHAT KIND OF QUALIFICATIONS DOES YOUR FACULTY HAVE?

Our violin, viola and cello instructors are highly qualified. At other music schools, some teachers only have music degrees, or some teachers only have gigging experience. At TFAA, we have the best of both worlds by hiring instructors who have both university training as well as practical, real-world experience playing professionally. Just because someone is a musician who plays well doesn't mean he/she will be a great teacher. Someone could be the greatest musician in the world, but all that knowledge and experience doesn't help anyone at all from a teaching and learning perspective if it can't be conveyed properly to their students.

We search all over the areas of Tampa and Wesley Chapel so that we can find the best instructors, who can effectively teach individuals how to play the violin in a way that he/she can easily understand. Because our teachers truly LOVE what they do, their enthusiasm for music inspires their students to want to continuously improve. A lot of our strings teachers have received music degrees from prestigious music schools such as the University of South Florida. In addition, they have years of experience teaching violin, viola and cello to individuals of various ages from 4 to adult.

WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS?

At our Academy, our goal is to get you where you want to be in the quickest and most effective way possible. If you have never played the violin before, we strive to get you playing an actual, recognizable tune within the first month or two. Regardless of what level you are at, we have found that a lot of our students want to continue learning the violin from us for many years because they are having fun and want to keep improving.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP MY CHILD PRACTICE AT HOME?

We encourage the parents of children who take lessons at our Academy to join us in their lessons. This way you can see first hand the ways we are teaching your child. And we can demonstrate the best way you can help encourage him/her how to practice at home. Our teachers are also here to talk to the parents at the end of each lesson to report how their child is doing and how you can assist at home in between lessons.
